The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen6:00 PM, SYFYThey aren't the X-Men, but another group of heroes saves the world via their unique talents in this fanciful 2003 adventure. Sean Connery heads the cast as explorer Allan Quatermain, who fights an Armageddon-plotting villain with help from Tom Sawyer, Captain Nemo, Mina of "Dracula" fame, the Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and ever-young Dorian Gray. It's not a horrible movie, and if the actors had been unknown, it actually would have been really good. But it's Sean Connery, for Pete's sake! And Stuart Townsend, Peta Wilson and Jason Flemyng are also quality actors. It's just too much disappointment to take.
How I Met Your Mother8:00 PM, CBSAs the show logs its 100th episode, Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) debates giving up wearing suits to land an attractive bartender, a conundrum that leads the cast to perform a musical number that is nothing short of -- what else? -- both awesome and legendary.
